Sept 2010 two new members joined the club. After our meeting we went to the Argonaut Mine with a legendary collector of the mine memorabilia. Together with the caretaker of the mine Herb took us on a tour of the headframe and grounds, sharing interesting stories. We were also regaled by a story from one of the Argonaut A's who had actually gone down into the mine with his father when he was young. His uncle had been a supervisor of the Argonaut mine before it closed in WWII when gold mines nationwide closed. If you want to read information on the disaster of the mine and town in 1922 , read the book "47 Down". (more photos at Sept photo gallery)
MISSION: The purpose of the club is to unite owners and admirers of Model A Ford’s within the local Amador County community in a spirit of good fellowship and fun activities.
