July 2010 Amanda Blake Wildlife Refuge Tour

In July 2010 The Argonaut A's met for lunch and toured Amanda Blake's memorial museum and wildlife refuge at Rancho Seco. It provides a sanctuary for animals who were rescued from canned hunting ranches or victims of the captive wildlife industry. The museum set in a small log cabin that replicates the Gunsmoke era, presents memorabilia from Amanda's life and historical photographs from her journeys to Africa. She lived her last two years at PAWS (
Performing Animal Welfare Society) and had a lifelong commitment to the conservation of wild places, this sanctuary was dedicated by PAWS in her name.
